T20 Cricket World Cup Final 2024

Since 2014, the day arrived when India would play the T20 Cricket World Cup final against South Africa in Barbados.

Both teams remained unbeaten in this World Cup. South Africa defeated Afghanistan comfortably in the semi-final, while India secured a convincing victory over England.

Yes, 140 crore Indians expect that India will win the World Cup in 2024, just like in 2007 and 2011. The Indian cricket team has shown great performance, and people strongly believe that we will be victorious once again. Everyone hopes that we will bring moments of pride and joy to the nation.

In 2007 at the Wanderers in South Africa, in 2011 at Wankhede in India, and now in 2024 in Barbados, West Indies, India will win the World Cup again.

This time, Team India has made strategies and is well prepared under Rohit’s captaincy before going to the Grand Final.

Most importantly, both teams are undefeated in this tournament. They played well in the league matches and the Super 8, and both teams easily defeated their opponents in the semi-finals.

Both teams have balanced squads. South Africa has Rabada, while India has Bumrah. South Africa has Q De Kock, and India has Rishabh Pant. There’s Hardik for India and David Miller for South Africa. So, performance-wise, both teams are well-matched.

Rohit Sharma is the main hero of this Grand Final for Indians. In the last two matches, he led from the front, batted fearlessly, and set remarkable targets for India.

Rohit is the kind of player who gets a bit angry if someone makes a mistake on the field, but he doesn’t hold grudges. We’ve heard him on the stump mic; he speaks his mind without worrying. However, he also appreciates his teammates after the match. Because of this, the Indian team has performed well under his captaincy.

Tactics & matchups:

David Miller, Aiden Markram, and Q de Kock are very dangerous players for South Africa. They can change the game at any moment, especially in T20 matches. India should have a strategy to get them out early and send them to the pavilion to watch the match from the dugout.

India’s main concern is Virat Kohli, who hasn’t been in good form recently. However, there is hope that he will perform well today and his batting will be effective. Shivam Dube hasn’t played well so far, but he has the ability to hit big shots. Rishabh Pant has performed well as the number 3 batsman, although he hasn’t always played up to his usual standard in a couple of matches. Despite this, India expects a strong batting performance in the final.

India reached the final because Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) performed well alongside Rohit Sharma when India lost quick wickets early in the innings. Additionally, Hardik Pandya played a crucial role as an all-rounder, contributing with both batting and bowling whenever India needed him.

If you notice in this World Cup, India is not dependent on just a couple of players. Every player has contributed to the team’s success in the tournament. For example, Axar Patel’s performance in the semi-final, Rishabh Pant’s two half-centuries, Suryakumar Yadav’s two half-centuries, Bumrah’s breakthrough wickets, and Kuldeep Yadav’s crucial wickets. This shows that it’s the collective effort of the entire team that has taken India to the final.

Since both teams emerged victorious in the semi-finals, it is likely that they will not make any changes to their line up.

Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen will be key players today, especially if South Africa bats first. Klaasen is expected to play a good innings. Rassie van der Dussen is also crucial for South Africa, and Tristan Stubbs is known for finishing matches strongly.

For India, Virat Kohli’s performance needs to be strong. Suryakumar Yadav is in good form as usual, and his 68 runs against South Africa in the last 2022 World Cup were crucial. Arshdeep Singh’s bowling might get early wickets for India, and Jasprit Bumrah is dependable in taking wickets when needed.

India Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah

South Africa is playing in the T20 World Cup final for the first time. During the group stage, they defeated big teams like England and West Indies. Markram led the South African under-19 cricket team to victory in the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup as their captain.

Pitch Repot – The Pitch at Kensginton,  pitch is dry, and with the ground slightly lower, the ball runs quickly towards the boundary, increasing the chances of scoring runs. Last 8 match pacers got 69 wickets, and spinner 38.

Head to Head – 26 Played – India 14- Won – SA- 11 Won – No Result -1

Venue – Kensginton Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados

Weather report – Like Guyana, there is a slight chance of drizzle in Barbados, but it won’t have much impact on the match.

We’ve been discussing players, but one person who has greatly influenced the Indian team’s performance is Rahul Dravid, often called the Great Indian Wall. As a coach, he has helped the Indian team improve consistently, just as he did as a player on the field.

Since 2013, India has been waiting for another ICC trophy to add to their collection. Today, Rohit Sharma has the chance to bring it back from Barbados, reminiscent of Kapil Dev’s victory on June 25, 1983, and Dhoni’s triumph on June 23, 2013 and 2nd Apr 2011, Rohit aims to achieve this milestone on June 29, 2024.
