India Women’s Historic Dominance and Current Form-Women’s T20 Asia Cup

The team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will embark on their quest for an eighth Women’s Asia Cup title, aiming to continue their dominance over their Asian counterparts.

Regarding the recent form of the Indian women’s team, they played well against South Africa and tied the series. Pooja Vastrakar has been in good form, taking 8 wickets. Deepti Sharma and Shreyanka Patil have also supported her well in the bowling department.

Shafali Verma was in fantastic form, scoring a double century in the South Africa Test series. Continuing her form will help the Indian women’s team in their quest to win another Asia Cup title in 2024. Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, being senior players, must play their natural game when it comes to batting. Both of them have the caliber to change the game single-handedly at any point of time.

The middle order is also balanced with Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh (wk). Jemimah has the potential to handle the middle order and has performed well under pressure in the past, but more is expected from her in this tournament. Richa has done well as a wicketkeeper but needs to improve her keeping skills. However, as a batsman, she is capable of hitting boundaries and sixes in the death overs.

The women’s team has a balanced lineup, including strong bowlers. Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar will handle the bowling department, while Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil will contribute as effective all-rounders. Shreyanka Patil is another talented player discovered in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) and has made her way into the Indian squad as an all-rounder. She consistently handles her responsibilities whenever required by the team.
